Error: This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it

Occasionally a ServiceLink user may run into an error message when they are attempting to open an XML file in ServiceLink.

Error: This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

If this happens, the first thing to verify is that the user is accessing ServiceLink through the Google Chrome web browser instead of one of the alternatives. Chrome is the recommended browser for ServiceLink and using any of the others can cause unexpected issues.

The second thing to try is to have them disable their PDF extension in their browser by clicking on the three dots at the top right of Chrome, then go to Extensions->Manage Extension. From there they should be able to disable the extension. If they don't have an extension installed, have them try the link above the Files section in ServiceLink to try and open it through there.
