Microsoft 657rx error or TPM Error

Modified on Mon, Sep 8 at 8:46 AM

If you receive one of these errors when opening an Office application and it does not allow you
to sign in to your Office 365 account you can do the following.

Or

Step 1

Connect to the user account with this issue and Close all Office Apps and make sure to disable
the automatic startup for all these apps. This can be done from “Startup Apps” once you have
opened “Startup Apps” make sure to untick all Office related apps, this includes OneDrive and
SharePoint.

Then sign out the user.

Step 2

Reconnect to the user having this issue on the cloud computer navigate to this location in file
explorer.

C:\users\%username%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n
1h2txyewy

Rename that folder to Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy.old
If you are unable to rename the folder due to it still being in use there is still an Office application
running.

Then log out and back in again. The user will have to sign in to the Office apps with their Office
365 account and will most likely see this error again, select “Continue” and your Office will be
working again, you should also not see this error again after you hit continue.

You can now also re enable the Office applications in “Startup Apps”

This is the V2 approved solution.
